Construction Process

Project team members evaluate the existing Section 80 line as they prepare for construction that begins in June 2023.

Construction Process

  1. Laying matting and building access roads for construction vehicles while protecting the area.
  2. Tree and vegetation trimming within our right-of-way boundaries to reduce possible transmission line damage or power outages.
  3. Prepping for installation of all structures, including drilling, setting bolt cages, and pouring concrete for the foundations that is needed to support less than 20 structures.
  4. Setting the poles either on foundations or by directly embedding them into a hole in the ground which we then backfill with gravel, tamp, and compact.
  5. Stringing the wire (conductor) onto the new poles. Some mats will be picked up and reused at other project locations, and areas will be temporarily stabilized.
  6. Removing existing wire and structures; then removing matting.
  7. Restoring the right-of-way by grading, seeding, and applying mulch.
  8. Restoring access roads. Improvements to existing gravel roads made by CMP during the project will remain in place for the benefit of all.
